Over 90 people attended the service and celebration including former members of the church and community who came from far and wide to share their fond memories…

Partnerships Update

Thanks to our development project, we’ve been able to start working much more closely with community partners to expand and improve what we are doing in the community here at Holy Nativity. Working with Together Housing we’ve seen improvements to our facilities. And with them and others we’ve now set up fortnightly support drop ins where local residents can come for advice and support on a range of issues. Our advice service includes: We are always looking for ways to…

More Building updates!

Following on from the big March clear out and the creation of the new church office we’ve been doing even more to improve the back stage facilities here at Holy Nativity. For such a busy and active church, we really struggle for storage, and thanks to the UKSPF grant and some help from community partners it’s been great to see progress on making everything more organised and easy to use. Starting with the vestry – where all the items for…

Funding Update

A lot of our UKSPF funded development project is about the big building project here at Holy Nativity, but at the same time we are still focused on delivering all the amazing activities and community benefits that we already do. To help us with that we get lots of support from local, regional and national funders and we are thrilled to report that we have two grants just in which will help us move forward. First, with the support of…

In The News!

It’s been a busy time here at Holy Nativity and with everything that’s going on we’ve been in the news! First a report on the start of the new project was published in March and then with our very special VIP visitor to Rock Mass we appeared in The Courier again, as well as in Christianity Magazine. It’s great to be getting so much attention – if you spot us anywhere in the press do let us know and keep…

Meet Our New Caretaker!

Thanks to funding from the United Kingdom Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF)* Holy Nativity is embarking on a three year project to develop our church building and expand the activities and community services that we provide. Holy Nativity turns 70 this year and the building has been at the heart of the community for all of that time, being originally funded by public subscription and arriving as a ‘flat pack’ church back in 1954. The funding enables us to have two…

Making Progress With The Building!

It’s been a busy first month for our development manager and a willing bunch of volunteers from the church and the local community! We’ve already had a big clear out, and what was once a storage cupboard and cluttered staircase … Is now a fully functioning church office ! It’s been hard work but we’ve had some fun along the way. We found loads of fascinating artifacts that tell the story of the past 70 years at Holy Nativity and…

Harvest Festival appeal – donations welcome!

As we start to plan for relaunching the Holy Nativity Community drop in we need to restock our pantry with all the foods we need to support families and individuals in our community in desperate need. In past years our community have been incredibly generous every Harvest in offering food and toiletries to support people in need and we are praying that this year you will be just as generous. What can I bring? To make sure that we can…
