Dear friends, Over the last two years the work of Holy Nativity’s pantry has grown considerably. Last week the pantry was closed and in the coming weeks we will unfortunately be unable to open. To put it simply, we have no food.
The pantry runs on the generous donations of the church community, our friends and neighbours in Mixenden and Illingworth. In the coming weeks we will be looking at how we can continue this work with the Community Drop In on Monday afternoons. This will include looking at how we target the resources we have to those who are most in need. We will of course continue to signpost to other local services.
On October 9th, it is Holy Nativity’s Harvest Service. It is hoped that Harvest will be one of the many ways in with we continue to pool our resources as a community. It is this generosity that continues to enable us even now to provide emergency food parcels for those who are in desperate need. We plan to reopen the community drop in on November 7th after this short break to enable us to do the necessary work to continue to support those who are most in need in our community.
If you would like to give to the work we do helping those who are in need through poverty, we would be very grateful.
